office workstation layout & ergonomics
Office workers are likely to spend many hours using a variety of keyboard equipment. Keyboard equipment that is properly selected, co-ordinated and adjusted will help prevent a range of injuries caused by overuse, poor posture and poor lighting.
There are some basic principles you need to remember about the limits of the human body and the way it works and keep these in mind when performing tasks and your workstation layout.

Range of Movement
At the end of the range of movement tendons and muscles are stretched and are at their least powerful. If force is then applied an injury could occur.
Muscle Activity
Static (holding) work and dynamic (moving). It is beneficial if muscles receive the right amount of blood and oxygen a combination between these types of movements.
Posture
Good work posture helps to reduce fatigue. It is important to vary your posture frequently and regularly as you work.
Take Breaks
An effective break requires you to move the muscles performing static work and rest those performing dynamic work.
